Using a simple project database, itprovides capabilities to manage requirements, explore alternativesolutions, measure technical performance, automatically generate systemdocuments, and more.SLATE is process-independent. It does not impose a design process. Ithas been designed to support existing processes, help improve an emergingprocess, or develop a new system engineering process.SLATE is a multi-user tool. Many project team members can access thesame database at the same time. When an object is modified, it becomeslocked to other users. Others can still view the object or change otherobjects, but they cannot modify that object until the originalmodification is saved and the lock released.SLATE is a multidimensional tool.
